Around 100 volunteers, 20 cars, 1,000 Christmas menus and just as many bulging bags of hygiene articles, toys, food and pet food - that was 'Dein Festmahl unterwegs'. Instead of traditionally taking place in Hall 4.1 of MESSE BREMEN, the fourth edition of the charity event was held outside due to corona. The festive menu in the form of duck leg, red cabbage and potato dumplings was distributed in cooperation with Caritas Bremen, Bremer Suppenengeln, Bremer Tafel and the Inner Mission at 16 stations in the city and delivered to 19 families. There were also donations in kind such as hats, scarves, hygiene items, sweets and toys for children.
Around 1,000 needy Bremen residents were fed. In addition to the volunteers, prominent supporters also lent a hand, as they do every year, including the President of Bremen's Parliament Frank Imhoff, Bremen's Social Senator Anja Stahmann and actor Uwe Rohde. For the Christmas atmosphere provided at the one or other distribution point also some live music. A veterinarian and the Bremer Tiertafel were also on site and provided some dogs with new leashes, toys and treats.
The next date for 'Dein Festmahl' is set: On December 14, 2021, the 5th Christmas afternoon for needy Bremen residents will start.
