The exchange of ideas on topics such as long-term ventilation, organ failure and sepsis is more important than ever right now - if not at congresses, then online. As an alternative to the Symposium Intensivmedizin + Intensivpflege (Symposium on Intensive Care Medicine + Intensive Care), the organizers have therefore launched a virtual lecture series: the Bremer Talk. In a total of eleven dates from the end of February to mid-July, experts will talk about topics that move the sector - every second Wednesday from 6 to 7 pm.
The series will start on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, with a medical-literary journey through time in the form of a reading from the book "Charles Dickens and the Sick of London". The event will continue with talks on the challenges of intensive care medicine in pandemic times, the ethical aspects of the pandemic and testimonials from companions and those treating Covid 19 sufferers. Following the talks, there will be time for participants to ask questions.
Like the Symposium Intensivmedizin + Intensivpflege the Bremen Talk is jointly organized by three institutions: Wissenschaftlicher Verein zur Förderung der klinisch angewendeten Forschung in der Intensivmedizin e. V. (WIVIM - Scientific Association for the Promotion of Clinically Applied Research in Intensive Care Medicine), the Bremen-based HCCM Consulting GmbH and CONGRESS BREMEN, M3B GmbH. Registration for the virtual lecture series will open Monday, February 8, 2021 at www.intensivmed.de.
