Vaccinations and tests were carried out for months, and now the events are starting again: At the 109th German Bibliothekartag, which takes place from Wednesday to Friday, 16 to 18 June, at the Congress Centrum Bremen, visitors are allowed to participate again for the first time. For two days, around 100 guests will be able to follow the congress on site and exchange ideas. For all other participants, the three-day event will be broadcast virtually.
The congress is traditionally aimed at librarians in academic and public libraries. This time, the focus is on Corona and digitisation. After the libraries have digitally adapted their services due to the pandemic, they are now facing new challenges and have to serve their digital communities as well as the users on site in parallel.
The organisers expect a total of 2000 participants.
