Reaction to changed general conditions
"We were on a very good track. Exhibitors in the fish industry were looking forward to lively exchanges and the gastro scene was in a positive mood of optimism after the lockdown months. But the pandemic situation demanded flexible solutions from us" says Claudia Nötzelmann, division manager for trade fairs at MESSE BREMEN. "And we found good solutions for both fairs." The fish international will be moved from its original date in February to September 2022. GASTRO IVENT will take off in January 2023 with a "Special Edition."
"The personal exchange is very important for the fish industry. We have spoken to many exhibitors who very much welcome the fact that we are still offering them the opportunity to meet in 2022," says Sabine Wedell, project manager of fish international at MESSE BREMEN. Interest is high: "The booking status for the planned event in February is quite excellent. This shows us how great the demand for information, innovation exchange and networking is." The fish international will now take place from Sunday, September 4 to Tuesday, September 6, 2022. "We have initial, very positive feedback" Wedell looks ahead with confidence.
Taking off after the next peak season
The situation is different in the gastronomic scene: "With ingenuity and a lot of commitment, the gastronomic businesses and communal caterers have mastered the crisis of 2020," says Marta Pasierbek, project manager of GASTRO IVENT. "We have sensed a great spirit of optimism in the scene in recent months, but with the renewed planning uncertainty, a trade fair does not make sense at the moment. The risk for our partners of having to cancel spontaneously is too great." GASTRO IVENT is the marketplace for new and fresh ideas from the gastronomy scene. It provides an overview of all relevant areas such as premium food, beverages, coffee, cooking and kitchen technology, equipment, cash register systems, hygiene and service. Here is the better time from Saturday, January 28 to Monday, January 30, 2023, says Pasierbek.
Together again in 2024
"We want to stick to the long-term concept of having fish international and GASTRO IVENT held together, thus offering a plus for all visitors and exhibitors," notes Hans Peter Schneider, managing director of M3B GmbH, to which MESSE BREMEN belongs. "From 2024, we will then go down the road together again."
