LogisticsConnect Bremen, Germany’s only congress trade fair for break bulk, RORO and heavy lift, has come to a successful close with 71 exhibitors and around 1,210 participants. This represents a significant increase on last year’s event.
We have further developed LogisticsConnect with new formats, new focal topics and in-depth content in the conference programme,’ says Hans Peter Schneider, Managing Director of M3B. The congress fair is also recognised internationally. This year, guests from 21 nations – from Canada to Nigeria, Singapore and the Baltic States – were welcomed. The Young Professionals programme, run in collaboration with universities and vocational schools, has succeeded in attracting young talent to the event. In addition, the congress fair provided space for successful business talks at the stands, while the evening event Break Bulk Bash ensured a good atmosphere.
„LogisticsConnect has created a new, powerful format for project logistics in Bremen. It is an industry gathering that offers us, as industry representatives, exactly the right mix: well-founded technical presentations, practical discussions and intensive exchange with partners along the entire supply chain.
I had the opportunity to provide impetus for modularisation in plant construction as part of the specialist programme – a topic that is of strategic importance to us at thyssenkrupp Uhde,“ says Daniel Duis, Global Head of Logistics at thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbH and member of the LogisticsConnect programme advisory board.
In times of geopolitical upheaval and economic uncertainty, the event in Bremen brought together leading experts from the industry to analyse key challenges and discuss and highlight practical solutions. One of the main topics of this year’s congress programme was the resilience of supply chains and critical infrastructure.
‘Together with M3B, we have created a trade fair with industry participation for the industry. This sends a strong signal from Bremen,’ says Dr Patrick Drewes, member of the BHV executive committee and member of the LogisticsConnect programme advisory board.
This is also confirmed by Kristina Vogt, Bremen’s Senator for Economics, Ports and Transformation: „This trade fair was something the industry wanted, and Bremen made it happen. The fact that we have significantly increased the number of participants and almost doubled the number of exhibitors within two years shows that the demand is real. Especially now, with the war in Iran blocking shipping routes and supply chains under pressure again, the industry needs exactly that: a place where shipping companies, ship owners and logistics providers can gather and become more flexible. Because it’s not just about coffee in the morning. This concerns heavy goods such as wind turbine components, intermediate products on which industry and supply depend. Our goal is very clear: we want to be in a position where the next crisis does not catch us off guard again.
